SL community services director is retiring early

The public is invited to a farewell open house from 4-6 p.m. Monday at Village Hall for Village Community Services Director Kathy Staton, who is retiring. After almost four years working for the village, Staton's last day is Monday. Staton said she and her husband, Dave, plan to move back to Charlevoix after he retires from Consumers Energy in November.

“The time just all of a sudden creeped up on us and we have so much to do on our house to get it ready to go on the market,” she said. “I can’t do it and work at the same time, so that means early retirement for me.”
