New downtown boutique to feature casual but stylish clothing

A new boutique featuring trendy clothes for women - yet casual and affordable, the store's owner said - is opening in downtown Grand Haven on Friday. Solia Boutique owner Courtney Mally - a mother of three who lives in Spring Lake - said she wants to target busy moms who are looking for stylish and casual clothes, but are crunched for time.

“I’m all about making it convenient for the busy woman and moms on-the-go,” Mally said as she playfully entertained her 4-year-old daughter, Julia, while at the store earlier this week. “I’m hoping to accommodate my customers.”

Mally has designed the store’s layout to be “family-friendly” and spacious enough to maneuver strollers — a necessity for moms with younger children.

The store, at 119 Washington Ave., contains a variety of women’s clothing — including casual tops and bottoms, beach dresses, handbags, shoes, jewelry, belts, and lingerie.

Solia Boutique will be open from 7-9 p.m. Friday for an open house. Beginning Saturday, the store will open with its regular business hours.
