Secretary of State branch office computers down

The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget is working to correct a statewide computer outage that began Wednesday. The outage on the department's mainframe computer supports branch office systems for the Secretary of State. While Secretary of State branch offices are open today, citizens visiting these locations will not be able to conduct business transactions until further notice.

The stage agency worked through the night and continues to work this morning to correct the problem. A fiber link was broken and technicians have identified the problem, and connectivity has been restored. No time estimate is available for restoration.
