Wooden boats sought for annual Spring Lake show

Organizers hope to attract a fleet of variety to the eighth annual Spring Lake Wooden Boat Show, scheduled for Saturday, June 4, at Keenan Marina. "We'll take a wooden boat in any shape,' said show chairman Mark Miller. "We have show winners, we have boats that are unrestored, we have boats for sale - and we have complete project boats which are basket cases.' In other words, your mahogany doesn't have to be marvelous to join the show.

“We’re very flexible,” Miller continued. “You don’t have to have an award-winning boat to bring it to the boat show. Some people are there for the purity of winning and you also get people who are just there to have fun.”

The show runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Keenan Marina docks and grounds, 526 Pine St. The onsite registration is from 7 to 11 a.m. A boat parade will follow the 3 p.m. awards ceremony.
