The second event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Tri-Cities Family YMCA. Station Grand Haven crew members will be displaying the station’s 25-foot response boat-small, and will be joined by members of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department and Grand Haven Department of Public Safety. Children will be allowed to see the inside of the response boat.
The goal of National Safe Boating Week is to heighten awareness among recreational boaters of the importance of boating responsibly, including wearing a life jacket at all times.
