Auction to benefit Milwaukee Clipper on Sunday

An auction to help restoration efforts for the SS Milwaukee Clipper will be held Sunday at the Muskegon Country Club. The event begins at 11 a.m. with a brunch. A silent auction is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and a live auction is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. The cost is $25 per person. The auction is being sponsored by the SS Milwaukee Clipper Preservation organization, which is seeking donations to the Clipper. The Clipper ferried passengers and cars from Muskegon Lake to Milwaukee from 1940 to 1970.

The preservation committee is also seeking a permanent mooring site for the vessel so that it can be used for tours, class reunions, weddings and other functions.
