Russian pianist to join symphony for season finale

Award-winning pianist Gleb Ivanov will join the West Michigan Symphony for its final concerts of the season, June 3-4. "Chasing the Sun: From Darkness into Light' will feature powerful symphonic works, allowing Music Director Scott Speck and the symphony to shake off the last vestiges of winter and welcome summer to the region.

“It has been a long winter in West Michigan, but we are delighted to usher in summer with this evocative season finale,” Speck said. “The program will feature the work of my friend and colleague, contemporary composer John David Earnest, along with some much-loved traditional scores.”

Tickets are still available for the performances, which begin at 7:30 both nights at the Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts in downtown Muskegon.
