Lehto is the author of “Chrysler’s Turbine Car: The Rise and Fall of Detroit’s Coolest Creation.” He will talk about the car built in 1963 that showed so much promise, yet failed to make it to market. Chrysler loaned prototypes of the turbine car to select applicants to gauge public response to a car with an engine that could run on any type of combustible fuel available — including diesel, home heating oil, kerosene, perfume and tequila.
A book signing will follow the presentation.
