New museum exhibit promotes area’s historical ‘Fragments’

A new exhibit at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum, 200 Washington Ave., aims to provide a glimpse into the area's architectural past. "For those that are lifelong residents, it will bring back wonderful memories of a bygone time,' Tri-Cities Historical Museum Executive Director Dennis Swartout said. The exhibit, "Fragments,' features a variety of historically significant architectural pieces salvaged from buildings in the Tri-Cities area that have either been demolished or significantly altered.

Steven Radtke, the Grand Haven museum’s curator of exhibits, said many of the items haven’t been put on display.

“There’s a lot of pieces from the old Ottawa County Courthouse,” he said.
