Tornado watch

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for much of Lower Michigan, including Ottawa County, until 8 p.m. Sunday. A flood watch is in effect for southern Lower Michigan, including Ottawa County, through late Sunday night. The forecast for the rest of this afternoon: Showers and thunderstorms. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. High near 70. East southeast wind around 6 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 pm. Low around 60. North-northeast wind 5 to 8 mph, becoming east-southeast at 13 to 16 mph. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Memorial Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. South-southwest wind at around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
