“We are asking that any person in the community who wishes to attend bring in a canned good item for our St. Mary’s Food Pantry,” Tejchma said.
All visitors to the event will be counted by the kids, and they will receive a Tootsie Pop and a kindergartner will read visitor’s a poem. Visitors also will be asked to sign the students’ guest list.
Tejchma has served as kindergarten teacher there for 23 years. Her 32 years as a teacher will come to a close with her retirement on June 10. A party is planned in her honor for 10 a.m. Sunday, June 12, at St. Mary’s Church Activity Center, adjacent to the school.
