Love INC clinic organizers looking ahead to future

The Love INC Free Health Clinic operating out of the Ottawa County Health Department, 16920 Ferris St., celebrated its one-year anniversary on May 20 - and already officials are looking ahead to the future. Love INC Tri-Cities Executive Director Eric Morgan said he would like to see the clinic's need expand beyond urgent care services and move to a free health clinic that also offers primary care.

“Many of the clients that come in have needs for chronic assistance — things like high blood pressure and diabetes,” Morgan said. “These situations extend beyond urgent care. They need a solution where they can visit a medical staff on a regular basis, yet they have no funds in their budgets to do that.”

The free clinic is open to Ottawa County residents who are age 18 and older and don’t have health insurance. The clinic near Grand Haven High School in Grand Haven Township operates every Thursday at 5 p.m.
