GH Council approves beach restroom contractor, new park-and-pay system

City beachgoers will soon have a new place to use the restroom. The city of Grand Haven has approved contracts with Muskegon-based Tridonn Construction to begin work on a new restroom at Grand Haven City Beach. The contract, at a cost of $171,113, was approved unanimously during the Grand Haven City Council meeting on Monday night. "It has been a long time coming for our citizens to have something to use down there aside from the lake or the long haul down to the state park,' City Councilman Mike Fritz said.

About $115,000 of the construction cost is coming from a state grant, with the remaining balance coming from the city.

Visitors and residents will also be seeing a new way of parking in downtown parking lots in the near future. City Council members unanimously approved the purchase of a new park-and-pay booth that will be installed at the corner of Franklin and First streets.
