Houle’s career as an educator started in Muskegon Public Schools, where she taught for 23 years, she said. She moved to Grand Haven Area Public Schools, where she worked as the assistant high school principal for two years. That was when Lakeshore’s building housed Grand Haven High School — the school from which she graduated, she said.
Houle then became Lakeshore Middle School’s principal, where she has spent the past 15 years making good memories with staff and students, she said.
