Library’s summer reading clubs to begin June 13

Children, teens and adults are invited to join the 2011 summer reading clubs at Spring Lake District Library, which begin June 13. Spring Lake District Library cardholders may sign up early, beginning this week, for the reading club or programs requiring pre-registration. Bring your library card to the Youth Services desk and sign up in person. Youth can sign up for the One World, Many Stories reading club to earn prizes for the books they read and attend a variety of free entertaining programs.

Parents will have the opportunity to win money for their children’s future college expenses when they enter the “Destination College Savings” sweepstakes at the library. The sweepstakes is sponsored by the Michigan Education Savings Program, Michigan Education Trust and the Library of Michigan Foundation. Parents will have a chance to win $1,500 toward their child’s future college education and $1,000 for the library.

Adults can join the Reading Rewards summer reading club to also earn prizes for the books they read and enter bi-weekly drawings to win additional prizes.

Participants will have the opportunity to win prize packages provided by the Friends of Spring Lake District Library, Delass Garden Market, East Village Wine Shoppe, Field’s Fabrics, Fish X 2 and Ace Hardware.
