Local woman offers free sunrise yoga lessons

A local businesswoman plans to stretch to new horizons with free weekly sunrise yoga sessions at Lakeside Beach. The first class is scheduled for 6:05 a.m. on Wednesday to celebrate the beginning of summer. Sandy Parker plans to open On the Path Yoga studio at 617 E. Savidge St. on Aug. 1. The sunrise beach classes will be choreographed to the sunrise, beginning several minutes later each Wednesday, according to the projected sunrise time, according to Parker. Beach sessions continue through Sept. 21 – the fall equinox.

Participants should bring a beach towel to Lakeside Beach, which is on Lake Avenue north of Savidge Street. Classes are free, but donations will be taken for the Grand River Greenway bike path project, according to Parker.
