“The lawsuit is seeking reasonable compensation from the insurance companies of all of the defendants,” said Randy Allaben of Allaben & Bandeen P.C. of Grand Rapids, attorneys for the VanDams.

Kaitlin was the third person on the Sea Doo, driven by Robby Jerovsek, that was struck by a Mastercraft ski boat on Sept. 5, 2009 on Spring Lake. The ski boat was being operated by then 14-year-old Jack McKeough of Spring Lake. The middle passenger on the Sea Doo was Alexis Youngberg of the Chicago area.

The lawsuit seeks compensation for VanDam’s medical expenses, therapy, related treatments and economic losses, current and future, related to the accident.
