Tribune to offer readers monthly sports magazine

Athlon Sports, a monthly publication featuring stories on a variety of amateur and professional sports, will appear in the Grand Haven Tribune every third Friday, beginning this Friday. "This is a very sports oriented community, so I believe the Athlon Sports magazine will have a great following in our market. This publication will create more value for our subscribers, and is just one more reason for people to purchase our newspaper,' said Kevin Hook, Tribune publisher.

Each month, Athlon Sports will have special features that focus on the personalities of the players, coaches and teams. Special features will cover college football and basketball, NFL, NBA, MLB, NASCAR, golf, soccer, hockey, horse racing, as well as other sports.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with the Grand Haven Tribune,” said Jerry Lyles, senior vice president of publisher relations for Athlon. “They are a tremendous asset for us as we launch the largest sports title in the country.”

Other major areas of content will include youth/amateur sports, Ask Athlon Sports, Exclusive Q&A, Where Are They Now, and Reporter’s Notebook.
