“We set a goal to set 17 (bins) and we hit that, and we hit the fundraising target as well,” he said. “We couldn’t have done it without the hard work of the class members and the donors.”
The bins have been split into two separate orders, with the first seven being installed this week and the remaining bins being installed in the coming weeks.
“The city of Grand Haven has been great as far as their workers placing the bins and placing the concrete,” Parker said. “It would have been a logistical thing that we’d have to overcome (without their help).”
