The stage itself was something to behold, Welling said.
“It takes three weeks apparently to build the stage,” she said.
Kevin Berko of Grand Haven said the stage “looked like a spaceship from outer space.” It included a huge video screen and lots of lights.
Berko, who went to the concert with friends and family, said he liked how U2 engaged the audience with their music as well as the visual aspect of the show. Like Welling, it was the first time he had seen the band perform in concert.
