Federal appeals court upholds Obama health care law

A federal appeals court in Cincinnati has upheld President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. The ruling is the first by a federal appeals court on the overhaul. The three-judge 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel delivered a long opinion today with disagreement on some issues. But it affirmed a Michigan federal judge's earlier ruling that Congress can require Americans to have minimum insurance coverage. A conservative law center had challenged the provision. It said that it was unconstitutional and that Congress was overstepping its powers.
