Brian Flanagan’s program elaborates the fact that Adams wasn’t born with silver spoon in hand; and, at the end of his life, he was buried in a modest, granite tomb. In between, however, the “Atlas of Independence” was a man of tremendous good fortune.

Flanagan has worked at the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies since 2003. He serves as program director of the Peter Cook Leadership Academy; and adjunct professor of public, nonprofit and health administration.

The “John Adams Unbound” traveling exhibit is on display at Loutit District Library through Aug. 5.
