Severe thunderstorm warning

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren counties until 11:15 a.m. NWS meteorologists were tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing hurricane-force wind gusts in excess of 75 mph. These storms were located over Lake Michigan at around 9:45 a.m. and moving east at 70 mph.

These storms have a history of producing widespread wind damage across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. This is a dangerous situation. The weather bureau advises residents to seek shelter now inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
