Local court administrator named to national post

Kevin Bowling, the administrator of the 20th Circuit and Ottawa County Probate courts, was recently elected president of the National Association for Court Management. The association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the administration of justice. With about 2,000 national and international members, it is the largest organization of court management professionals.

As a charter member of NACM, Bowling most recently served as president-elect, during which time he was chairman of the Conference Development Committee. His years of NACM leadership also include service on the Board of Directors as the general jurisdiction director, secretary/treasurer and vice president.

Bowling’s work in the judicial system spans 30 years with service as court manager, attorney, judicial educator and court consultant. He also served in a variety of positions with the Michigan Supreme Court for 20 years, and served as deputy chief of party for the Nigeria Justice Sector Assistance Project before returning to West Michigan.
