Grand Haven HS grad to perform in Saugatuck play

A 2008 Grand Haven High School graduate will perform in "Five Guys Named Moe,' opening this weekend at Saugatuck's Mason Street Warehouse, 400 Culver St. Zachary D. McConnell plays Four Eyed Moe in the production, which runs Friday through Aug 7. Curtain times are 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday. A 2 p.m. matinee is scheduled for Aug. 7. McConnell appeared in several Central Park Players productions during his childhood in Grand Haven. He assisted with CPP children’s programs while he was in high school.

McConnell, a Western Michigan University theater, art and music triple major, recently performed in the ensemble of “Chicago” at the Mason Street Warehouse.

He was one of 13 students selected from 130 who auditioned for WMU’s musical theater program.

The actor is scheduled to play Dr. Frankenfurter in “The Rocky Horror Show” at Kalamazoo’s Miller Auditorium Oct. 28 and 29.
