The Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve is operated by the nonprofit Muskegon Environmental Research Education Society. About 3,000 to 4,000 kids use the preserve each year as their own environmental laboratory. In addition, hundred of people use the preserve each season to ride their bikes or just walk to the various trails.
