SL Holiday Inn celebrates $2 million-plus renovation project

The Holiday Inn staff celebrated the re-launch of the waterfront hotel this week after more than $2 million in renovations. About 500 people attended Monday's event - which included tours of the remodeled hotel rooms, lobby, indoor pool, fitness and business center. "It opens up everyone's eyes that we're a refreshed property,' General Manager April Schmidt said. "Hopefully, we'll drive in more business and more employees. More business brings in more employees.'

Renovations also included the lobby, entry, exterior and signage at the hotel, 940 W. Savidge St. in Spring Lake. The guest rooms received new carpeting, wallpaper, furniture and 32-inch flat screen televisions.

“The whole building got a facelift,” Schmidt said. “It was a long, long winter — but people absolutely love it.”
