Grammy Award winner to sing for kids at SLDL

Grammy Award winner Barbara Bailey Hutchison will perform at Spring Lake District Library at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, for kids. Hutchison won a Grammy for Best Musical Recording for Children. Her songs feature the importance of reading and the fun of going to the library. She has released 17 CDs - eight of them featuring children's music and three of those were nominated for Grammy awards. Other highlights of her resume include three concerts at the White House and jingles she has sung for major corporations.

The performance will be held in the Baird Program Room at the library, 123 E. Exchange St. Hutchison will be available following the concert to talk with the audience, give hugs and sign CDs.

The concert will help close this summer’s “One World, Many Stories” summer reading club for youth, which ends Aug. 6.
