Lisa Lungaro named director of local humane society

Lisa Lungaro has been named executive director for the Harbor Humane Society. According to the announcement from the Ottawa County animal shelter, Lungaro has 25 years of experience in bank management, employee relations and other leadership roles in both commercial and nonprofit organizations. Lungaro previously worked at Macatawa Bank as an assistant vice president at the Douglas branch. Before that, she was an assistant branch manager at Old Kent Bank's Saugatuck and west-side Holland branches.

A year ago, Lungaro joined the Harbor Humane Society Board of Directors and had been serving as its vice president for the last seven months.

“Heidi Yates, the former executive director, left on July 22 to pursue other opportunities,” said Jane Urbanski, a member of the local humane society’s Board of Directors.

In her new role at the humane society, Lungaro will be responsible for all administrative, fund development, financial, personnel and operational activities for the animal shelter.

“Lisa will bring a lot of energy and focus to growing the shelter’s many programs and services, and we’re very excited about having her come on board,” HHS Board President Greg Dziewit said in the Aug. 12 announcement.
