Tentative agreement reached in sale of C3 Exchange building

Although details are confidential at this point, C3 Exchange Board Chairwoman Judy Swanson said a tentative agreement is in place to sell the church building. "We are in the fortunate position of having a number of parties that have expressed interest,' Swanson said Tuesday. "We have come to a tentative agreement with a potential buyer. It's going to be several weeks before we know for sure, and there is a confidentiality clause for both the seller and the buyer.'

Swanson said even she is unaware of the details because the purchaser’s agent has been dealing with the church’s real estate agent.

The property was listed in May with Wisinski of West Michigan. The asking price was $1.9 million for the 35,000-square-foot building on 4.4 acres at 225 E. Exchange St.

Village Manager Ryan Cotton said the prospective purchasers contacted Village Hall on Tuesday and set up a Thursday meeting with the village’s planning staff.

“We’ll have to see what they’re proposing,” Cotton said Tuesday night. “I think there’s a contingency associated with the zoning and the financing.”
