SLDL celebrates Library Card Sign Up Month

It's no accident that Library Card Sign Up Month coincides with the beginning of the new school year. Library cards are an invaluable tool for students returning to school. Those with Spring Lake District Library cards have access to a wealth of information that can be found on library shelves and through the free Internet access available at the library. Library cards are free for those who live in the library's service area. Replacement cards for SLDL patrons are free during the month of September.

Spring Lake District Library will be hosting a free screening of the animated adventure comedy “Gnomeo & Juliet” at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1. The movie is rated G and runs for 84 minutes. Free snacks are available during the movie, and those who bring their SLDL card will also be treated to a free soda pop.

Spring Lake residents age 18 and older who don’t already have a library card may obtain one by presenting their valid Michigan driver’s license or Michigan ID card at the library.
