Yard sale to benefit A-T Children’s Project

A-T Children's Project will host a benefit yard sale this week at 42 S. Third St. in Fruitport. A-T Children's Project is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to support and coordinate biomedical research projects, scientific conferences and a clinical center aimed at finding a cure for ataxia-telangiectasia. A-T is a lethal genetic disease that attacks children - causing progressive loss of muscle control, cancer and immune system problems.

All proceeds from the yard sale will go toward research for the disease to find a treatment or cure for children like Aaron Biros, who was diagnosed with A-T when he was 2 years old. Aaron is now 11 years old and no longer has the ability to walk. He will be attending sixth grade this fall at Fruitport Middle School.

The sale hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
