Youth symphony to hold auditions tonight

The West Michigan Youth Symphony is seeking musicians for its 2011-12 season. Open auditions will be held from 6-8 tonight (Tuesday, Aug. 30) at Muskegon Community College. The youth symphony is seeking to fill the following spots: all strings, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba and percussion. Sixth-graders through college sophomores who are members of school music ensembles are eligible to participate.

Walk-ins will be allowed and heard between scheduled auditions. Eligible students may earn college credit from Muskegon Community College for participation in the West Michigan Youth Symphony.
