House of Chan restaurant to close on Sunday

A restaurant open for 60 years in the Muskegon area will close this weekend. House of Chan owner Joe Chan said the business he took over from his grandfather is losing money. Chan said he delayed the difficult decision to close as long as possible to keep his employees working. The restaurant's last day will be Sunday. Customers are already making reservations to be there on the final day, Chan said. The House of Chan started in downtown Muskegon and moved to Norton Shores in 1973.

A restaurant open for 60 years in the Muskegon area will close this weekend.

House of Chan owner Joe Chan said the business he took over from his grandfather is losing money.  Chan said he delayed the difficult decision to close as long as possible to keep his employees working.

The restaurant’s last day will be Sunday. Customers are already making reservations to be there on the final day, Chan said.

The House of Chan started in downtown Muskegon and moved to Norton Shores in 1973.
