Muskegon man charged with assault and stalking of SLT woman

A Muskegon man is facing charges including stalking and assault for breaking into a woman's home in Spring Lake Township. William Henry Nelson, 22, appeared in court on Thursday. Detectives said he broke into the victim's home early on Aug. 12. The woman injured herself while trying to get out of her house, but was able to get to a neighbor's home safely.

Investigators found evidence that led them to Nelson's home in Muskegon on Wednesday. They said he may have intended to sexually assault the victim.

Nelson is being held on a $500,000 bond.
