Council to look at proposed Columbus Avenue redevelopment

An amendment to the city's brownfield plan would pave the way for redevelopment at 128 Columbus Ave. City Council on Tuesday will be holding a public hearing during its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. about approving a redevelopment plan for the site, located between First and Second streets. The site was formerly a bowling alley and other businesses.

According to the amendment proposal, about $2 million in private investment would allow for the redevelopment. The new site would include two floors of 8,000 square feet each and a partial basement. Structural elements would allow for the possible construction of a third floor for residential or commercial space as conditions allow.
