Kitchel-Linquist Dunes Preserve walk is Sunday

Kitchel-Lindquist Dunes Preserve will host an afternoon family-oriented public hike on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Committee members will welcome participants at the Dr. Mary S. Kitchel outdoor classroom on the north side of Berwyck, just east of North Shore Drive in Grand Haven. All are welcome to participate.

The Kitchel-Lindquist Dunes Preserve, on the north shore, is owned by the city of Ferrysburg. The preserve consists of approximately 112 acres, one-half of which was donated by the late Connie Lindquist, by Gerald Lindquist, and by Harold V. Hartger. The other half was purchased primarily with the financial assistance of the Nature Conservancy and a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant.
