Program on Bible understanding Sept. 27 at SLDL

If gaining a better understanding of the Bible is one of your goals, join the Rev. Dr. Kathryn Roberts at Spring Lake District Library, 123 E. Exchange St., at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27. Roberts is theologian-in-residence at St. John's Episcopal Church in Grand Haven. She will share general principles for reading and interpreting the Bible during this free presentation for the community.

Roberts is a Grand Haven native, and graduate of Hope College and Colgate Rochester Divinity School, and ordained in the Reformed Church in America. She received her Ph.D. in Old Testament from Princeton Theological Seminary, and has taught on university and seminary levels. Her research and writing interests include the worship and religion of ancient Israel — myth, politics and theology.
