8 p.m. — A lighting ceremony at the boardwalk and naming of Mike Westra’s kinetic metal sculpture.
Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24
6 p.m. to midnight — Indie Rock Festival featuring 10 bands, a beer tent and local foods.
Saturday, Sept. 24
10 a.m to noon — "Minnows, Music and Munchies" allows people to bring their “Rocket Fish minnow" to the waterfront to register for a competition. Public voting in a variety of categories with prizes to be awarded.
Noon to 3 p.m. — "Schooling of Minnows" at the waterfront. All "minnows" are invited to participate, whether competing or not. Add your "minnow" to the one-day, 400-plus fish display. Free food and live music. Vote for your favorites. "Rocket Fish" will also be on hand for competition along Washington Avenue from Harbor Drive to U.S. 31. Announcement of winners will be at 5 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 28
6-10 p.m. — ArtWalk Centertown Block Party at the parking lot at Frame & Mat. The event features a pig roast compliments of Anthony’s Kicked Up Catering, as well as JW’s white chili. Live music by Barefoot Sunday, and Reb Roberts will be painting a mural.
Saturday, Oct. 1
Noon to 4 p.m. — Artwalk Family Art Party featuring painting, live entertainment, burgers and beverages at the ArtWalk headquarters, 18 N. Fifth St. The event is free.
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — ArtWalk Youth Competition for ages 17 and under. Hosted by Loutit District Library.
Sunday, Oct. 2
Noon to 3 p.m. — Final Day of Youth Competition at Loutit Library. People can vote for their favorite youth artists.
Wednesday, Oct. 5
Noon — Voting for ArtWalk 2011 officially ends at noon.
5-6 p.m. — Public announcement of ArtWalk prize winners at 18 N. Fifth St.
7-11 p.m. — Closing reception at Tri-Cities Historical Museum, 200 Washington Ave. Artists, venues, sponsors and volunteers celebrate another year of ArtWalk. By invitation only.
