Women’s group donates $32K to The People Center

The 100 (or more) Women Who Care group recently awarded its first grant of their second funding cycle to The People Center of Spring Lake. Approximately 320 women have signed commitments to support this endeavor, translating into more than $32,000 donated to The People Center. "This donation is amazing,' People Center Director Karen Reenders said. "It's given completely in the spirit of The People Center, which is ‘neighbor helping neighbor.''

The People Center will use the donation to update its outdated appliances, provide another washer and dryer for its residents to use, and stock its food pantry.

The 100 (or more) Women Who Care group is an alliance of women whose purpose is to help charitable organizations in the Tri-Cities by streamlining fundraising. Since September 2010, the group has awarded about $146,000 in funding to local agencies.
