New sign tells all about the Brass River

For years, Joy Gaasch, president of the Chamber of Commerce Grand Haven-Spring Lake-Ferrysburg, has been wanting a sign to explain the Brass River Plaza located between the Chamber office and the Transportation Museum at the west end of Washington Avenue. She got her wish. The sign was installed on Thursday and Gaasch saw a perfect opportunity to thank the people who funded the Brass River, which shows the Grand River watershed.

Gaasch had a group from Leadership West Michigan touring Northwest Ottawa County on Friday, so she thought it would be a good opportunity to recognize members of the Paul Johnson Foundation, which donated funds for the Brass River.

Family member Bari Johnson was recognized on Friday. This also enabled her to explain to the leadership group the significance of the Grand River to Grand Haven and the surrounding communities.
