Hearing on facade grant application is Monday

The public will have a chance to voice their opinions on a proposed Community Development Block Grant Application for facade improvements along Washington Avenue on Monday. City Council will be holding a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. on the grant application, which would provide $358,018 for facade improvements at 115, 119, 210, 732, 735 and 1118 Washington Ave. Work at many of the buildings along Washington Avenue would receive matching funds by the property owners, and it would allow for improved facades, new windows, paint and other exterior amenities.

City officials were notified in August that they were eligible to submit a full application for the grant funding.

Also Monday, officials will be approving bids for the Farmers Market parking lot reconstruction project and they will be looking at the possible approval of a collaborative services agreement with Grand Haven Area Public Schools for shared information technology services.
