Fallfest brings community celebration to E. Grand River Park

Cool temperatures and blue skies washed over East Grand River Park in Grand Haven on Saturday for the seventh annual Eastown Fallfest. "I think we have a good crowd going - especially since other things going on in town today,' Fallfest volunteer Annette Nelson said Saturday. Other events taking place Saturday included the annual C.R.O.P. Hunger Walk and the ArtWalk 2011 Family Art Party in downtown Grand Haven.

The Fallfest featured a 5K run; parade; Big Wheel tricycle race; food booths featuring local vendors such as Great Lakes Chili Dogs, Stanz Cafe and Anthony’s Kicked Up Catering; a dunk tank; dance show by Spotlight Dance Academy; pet expo featuring local pet-related businesses and organizations; live music by local reggae band Mystic Dub; and other family activities.

“There’s tons of games, free games for the kids,” event organizer Marci Lynch said Saturday. “Everything except for the food today is free."
