Building gutted for credit union’s new GH branch

Everything but a couple of 2-by-4-foot studs will be new inside and outside the Lake Trust Credit Union building, which is under construction on the southeast corner of U.S. 31 and Robbins Road. Construction crews began working on the former Morris, Schnoor and Gremel building on Aug. 22, Fannin said. The new building is expected to be complete by the end of February — “if Mother Nature isn’t too rough on us,” Fannin said.

DEI Inc. is the architectural company for the site plans and is overseeing the project.

Lake Trust Credit Union plans to relocate the company’s Grand Haven-area branch office, now at 16916 Robbins Road, to the smaller building early next year. The credit union received site plan approvals from the Grand Haven Township Planning Commission in June.
