Spay and neuter clinic to host open house Sunday

The West Michigan Spay and Neuter Clinic is celebrating its first year of providing "safe' spay and neuter surgeries in a low-cost clinic with an open house on Sunday afternoon. It will be held at the clinic, 6130 Airline Road in Fruitport, from 1-5 p.m. Officials from the nonprofit organization said the clinic aims to reduce the number of dogs and cats being euthanized locally because of pet over-population. They said they have performed 2,000th spay and neuter surgeries in the past year.
