VanderFest to support Holland AMBUCS chapter

Local liquid will be on tap Saturday at the second annual VanderFest Pints of Fall, a celebration of Michigan breweries and hard cider makers. The event - with food, live music and hand-crafted drinks - will run from 4-10 p.m. at Vander Mill, east of Spring Lake at 14921 Cleveland St. All proceeds will benefit the Holland AMBUCS chapter.

“This festival is different than other Michigan beer festivals and beer tents in the sense we’re trying to really promote Michigan winery and cider makers,” said Vander Mill owner Paul Vander Heide. “We’ll have hard cider makers from all over the state. We’re also supporting our Michigan breweries.”

Last year, after expenses, the event raised $500 for the Grand Haven AMBUCS. VanderHeide said he hopes to top that this year.

The Holland AMBUCS will have a booth displaying samples of their mobility solutions.

Admission to VanderFest is $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Tickets are available at Vander Mill and Old Boys’ Brewhouse in Spring Lake, Odd Side Ales in Grand Haven, and Brewery Vivant in Grand Rapids. They can also be purchased online at www.vanderfest.com.

Admission includes a 12-ounce VanderFest glass, and five sample tickets good for food or six-ounce glasses of beer or hard cider. Additional tickets are available for $1 each.
