Veterans’ stories sought for GVSU project

U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga is inviting area veterans of any war, their families and those who supported war efforts interested in learning more about how to share their stories through the Veterans History Project at an event on Monday.

It will take place at the Disabled American Veterans Hall 14, 1185 Matt Urban Drive in Holland, at 3:30 p.m.
Huizenga, R-Zeeland, will introduce the program and conduct a short example interview with an area veteran. There will be time for questions and a sign-up session after the interview.

Dr. James Smither, director of the Grand Valley State University Veterans History Project, will introduce the interview process and be available to answer questions about the program. Veterans will be able to fill out registration forms to share their story for the project, and sign up to schedule their interview after the session.
