“This is a great story of how our kids want to make a difference,” Love INC Executive Director Eric Morgan said of the concert.

Shirley Lemon’s choirs will be performing concerts at 3 and 7:30 p.m. at the GHHS Performing Arts Center. More than 200 students are expected to participate in the concert, called “Songs for a Better World.”

The choirs will also present the world premiere of a song written especially for them. “Oh, What a Beautiful City” was written by composer Rollo Dilworth.

“Love INC and Grand Haven High School are joining together to make a difference in our community,” Lemon said. “Known for changing lives, together they can help every person find their ‘voice.’”

Local community leaders will be asked to attend lend their talents in telling stories about local people who are struggling, Lemon said. Dancers will also be performing, she added.

Morgan said he is impressed that the students want to help the homeless.

Tickets for the concert are priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children; and are available at the high school office, The Bookman and at the following Love INC locations: 1106 Fulton Ave. in Grand Haven, 200 W. Savidge St. in Spring Lake and 13151 Cleveland St. in Nunica.
