Volunteers, who love to read, are needed to be paired with students who need practice reading.

Scholarships Creating Opportunities for Reading Enjoyment is funded by the Linda Shores and Michael Snodgrass Donner Advised Fund of the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, and Grand Haven Area Public Schools. The goal of S.C.O.R.E. is to raise the reading level of students and provide a personal connection with a coach/mentor that could change a child’s life.

Initial training for this program will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the White Pines Middle School Media Center, 1400 S. Griffin St.
