The teens brought $10 each — and, after voting, awarded $400 to Nina McKeough, representing the Child Advocacy Center.

The steering committee — Jessica Lewakowski, Rebecca Hochhuth, Hadlee Garrison, Sabrina Hochhuth, Abby Garrison, Samantha Lewakowski and Anja Hochhuth — invited three local nonprofit agencies to present to the group of 40 teens.

The group’s leaders said they hope to grow to 100 by the next meeting, which will take place at Spring Lake Middle School at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11. All teens from the Grand Haven and Spring Lake area are welcome.

More information about the organization can be found on the 100 Teens Who Care Facebook page.
